| Apple Advertising ... where?
I hardly ever see any Apple advertising outside the Mac community (Mac magazines and trade shows). The switch campaign was WAY to short and the benefits of the Apple server, G5 and the ease of OS X should be advertised around the world. It just seems Apple always drops the advertising advantage it could have. Have you ever seen a pure iPod tv commercial?

The latest Time magazine with "Untruth and Consequences" on the front has a PowerMac G5 ad in it. It's a two-pager. Apple seems to do ads in Time a lot.

Apple advertises all over the place. They're in almost EVERY issue of Time & Newsweek.

Apple advertises in Mac Addict and Macworld all the time! ![]() I've seen lots of commercials and ads. I see billboards all the time when my family and I visit Los Angeles (the latest was for the Music Store). I see Apple ads in magazines and commercials on TV. And yes, I've seen a pure iPod TV commercial, back when the iPod was new and hip, and the guy was downloading songs to it in his apartment. Besides, didn't you like that Powerbook commercial with Vern Troyer and Yao Ming?

In Melbourne, there is a four story high banner in the middle of the city with the "big & small" powerbooks, with Vern Troyer and Yao Ming. Mind you, that's the only place (outside of an Apple magazine) that I have seen an Apple advertisement since the launch of the new-shape iBook two years ago. I think Apple would do well to focus some of their advertising on PC-computing magazines, including professional journals. With a properly targeted ad in "PC User" Apple could really stir up interest in their products again. Or, a full page ad right amongst the troubleshooting pages in a PC magazine, that reads something like " ... or, you could use a Mac." - something cheeky that urges users to try a mac and see the difference for themselves.

It just seems that Apple doesn't trust television advertising. Be truthful with yourselves. Have you seen an Apple add during prime time television lately? |
