To Buy Or Not To Buy

Dear everyone,

I've been waiting for this moment for over a year now, making a very big decision, which is should I buy the last generation 1GHz PowerBook G4? , aka the "TiBook."

Tell me what you think.

Best Regards,
George Lien

It depends on how much you can find one for. If you can't find one for a whole lot less money than an AlBook, go for an AlBook. The 15" models are quite nice.

If you absolutely need a laptop, get an iBook for $1000, and wait until the G5 PowerBooks are out.

I think arden is 100% right on target! Still, Canada-Man may be right on his advice but G5 PowerBooks are at least 1 year down the road...

I would also recommend to compare the prices. If there are just (let's say) 500Euro or $ difference between the tibook and the albook, I would rather save some more money and go for the new albook.

Got the TiBook

I got myself the TiBook, and just like McDonald's slogan in Taiwan--"I'm lovin it"! ! !

Use my new Ti's installation CD to install Mac OS X.2, which I have legal copies of (10.1 plus 10.2 upgrade), onto my old Ti.

Now both machines just work great! It's like having two brand new PowerBooks! Yeah!

Memory upgrades should come soon. Pretty soon these PowerBooks will be running with 1 GB of RAM. Yes!

Soon, I will be able to run multi-platform on my new PowerBook, Mac OS, Mac OS X, Windows XP and Linux.

God, I love these PowerBooks, I love Mac OS X, and I sure love Apple.
