Same problem here. No creditcard, no edu discount. But I'm trying with a shop to give me the discount. Here's to hoping ...

Keep cool. If you don't receive it the first day, you may have one or two bugs less. Remember some countries have a global delay (French version in Canada, German version in Switzerland).

Do you have a bank account at all? Some sites will take an ATM or Visa check card instead of a credit card, like Amazon.

arden: AFAIK the only place online where you can get the Edu discount is Apple's Online Store. They will only accept credit-card for payments below € 1000,-. I do not have a credit-card. If you know any place online, shipping to Europe, that sells Panther with the edu discount, please post it. Without discount Panther is ~€150 with discount ~€100: that's quite some difference ...

I was able to get the Edu price on Office for Mac on a regular Apple reseller (no Apple Store here in Switzerland). I don't know if they do the edu price for the Apple software too, but they should.

I know that the online Apple Store is the only place that you can get the discount... I meant, would they take a card besides a credit card? FOR EXAMPLE, I was able to use my Visa check card like a credit card on Amazon. Does the Apple Store do this too, or must it be an actual credit card?

Apple has to understand that poor students in Europe doesn't want a creditcard, because there are many bad people around here like "Dutroux" the most dangerous paedophile on earth that use our students for bad perposes. There is not any ground that Apple has not to addept his salesstrategy at the social conditions in Belgium and The Netherlands. Neglecting this sithuation is not a win-win situation. People can buy records from www.proxis.be without creditcard and you got a quickdelivery and competitors like Dell accept the same. If Apple can't understand people who speeks dutch that are in difficults because of immoral people (proof chatservices from Microsoft here are closed because of paedophiles) and anti-American actions from stupid politicians with as result 3000 job cutts at Ford Genk, the whole educational system will fail for Apple because universities and schools will move to Windows and will not advice Macosx instead of Windows even if the product is better. Unless a photo no information about Dutroux is given because I want to keep this forum clean for children. Last edited by tree; October 31st, 2003 at 12:59 PM. |
