| sub $300 17" LCD
Just to go with the sub-$500 Mac, now are the sub-$300 17" LCD. I bough a 17" Princeton for 349 CHF (that's $304, taxes included) 4 weeks ago to replace a 17" Enzo CRT. The colors could be better, but it's so much smaller and comfortable. This increases the value of a sub-$500 box.

| Circuit City has some good deals on LCDs. Best buy had similar prices on Sonys, Viewsonics, etc.. Last week they had a Samsung 17" LCD for $279 after rebate. Only downside is it has a .294 pitch. Now it's $349. I was going to grab one to use with the iBook and a full-size keyboard at the house until that. Best Buy had a few nice 17" ones for less than $350 last week, including Sony & Viewsonic brands with good specs. Circuit City has (as of 01.03.2005 - 2300EST):
