OS 9.2.2 to OS X 10.1 Networking Problem

OS 9.2.2 to OS X 10.1 Networking Problem

I have a G3 desktop running 9.2.2, and a G3 PowerBook running OS X 10.1.3.

I have a small network at my office consisting of an ethernet laser printer, the 2 macs listed above and a windows PC running maclan, but don't worry about the pc, that's the least of my problems. The hub is a basic Farallon 8 port 10 base T.

Now, the PowerBook running X can see everything on the network and connects succesfully to everything - no problem... But when I try to connect to the PowerBook from the OS 9.2.2 Mac, I get problems and no connection... Firstly, I select the os X powerbook in the chooser and click ok... The modem starts to dial... I click cancel as I want to connect via ethernet. Then it alows me to enter a user name and password, which I do and when I click Connect, it flashes up an error saying "The connection to this server has unexpectedly broken".

I just want to use plain old appletalk, to connect - is it possible? Anyone know what's wrong here?

Would very much appreciate any tips... Thanks.

Jamie.

Jimbo,
You're posting in the wrong place. If you scroll down on the main page you'll see a number of more specific forums. Th emoderator will probably move these threads, but you'll have much better luck in those forums anyway.

Welcome, by the way.
