Non-standard links

I've noticed that a lot of links on this site, particularly those in pseudo-menus like the Quick Links in the toolbar and a user's name next to their post, always open in the current tab/window, even if I command-click them. I also can't get a meaningful contextual menu off of them like I can with normal links.

This isn't something I run into often, but it really gets in my way when I do. For example, sometimes when I'm writing a reply, I want to check up on another thread I remember, so I go Quick Links > Subscribed Threads, meaning to open that it a new tab. But it opens in the current tab instead, and my post-in-progress goes *poof*. Same with the Advanced Search link.

I don't know if there's a technical reason to have it the way it is, but I'd definitely appreciate a change to more flexible links if it's possible.

(Edit: I just realized, this behavior is not new to version 2.0, so I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.)
