| Thread/reply ranking and closing If Is the offer to rank a thread only for the poster and does it apply to the thread or to a reply received? I wanted to rank a reply I received tonight highly but wondered if I was inadvertently puffing the relevance of my query to the wider world rather than praising the clarity of the answer I had received? Can I come back a few days after the thread has fallen quiet to close it? It seems a bit rude to close it while someone might have something (which might be very relevant!) to say. If a thread is seen to be closed it gives hope of a possible good answer to seekers. |

| I think the forum options you're referring to reply only to you, the original poster. I close threads I start if the question is answered. If someone wants to continue the discussion, they start their own thread usually.
