using hotkeys to acess "apple menu"

Hiya everone. I was wondering if there were any hotkeys to be able to acess the "apple menu" (is that what you would call it?) Im talking about the menu on the top of the screen that has the apple in the corner. In windows, you could acess this type of menu with somthing like alt-f. I would be interested in acessing the "apple" itself, as well as the specific program menus (file, edit, help, ect.). Thanks for all the help.

Control-F2 does it for me. Make sure you have that keyboard shortcut set in System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts > "Move focus to the menubar"
