| No permissions FTP server
I recently switched to Mac so theres still basics to work out before I can abandon my PC. And tonight I encountered one of those. I wanted to upload some files to my webpage and had to connect to it via FTP. I used Finder to connect to the server but I had no permissions on the server. I couldnt upload my files cause I only had read permission. When I connect via my PC, I have all rights and the server don't have annonymous access, so wrong username and password is not a reason. Is there anyone that have an have encountered similar problems and maybe have a solution? |

Finder ftp is read only. You'll need an ftp client like Transmit, Interarchy or Cyberduck if you want to upload via ftp. Cyberduck is free. Also... If the webserver supports WebDAV you CAN connect via the Finder for Read/Write but it's fairly slow compared to Transmit or Interarchy using WebDAV. |

Thanks. I have installed Cyberduck and it works fine. I find it a bit annoying that Finder ftp is read only but Im sure there is a good reason. Thanks again for the info. Problem solved. |
