| Where do i start ?
I'm totally new to programming i had some basic programming over 20 years ago in school now everything has changed and i wanted to know where do i start and what can i download to help me? I have an emac 700mhz with about 256 of memory? basically i just want this machine as a programming machine and a learning tool before i go out and buy an imac...thanks Terry

Start at http://developer.apple.com/. The Developer Tools (now called "XCode") are free for download, and also included on an extra disc with your operating system. Install those first, then start with "Getting Started" at http://developer.apple.com/gettingstarted/. Cocoa is a good starting point since it will help you draw up and develop applications.
