However, this portion of the drive is locked, and every directory within it is also locked, meaning I don&#039;t have permission to any of the files I need within them. <br />

What I want to achieve is to make a backup of some files on one external hard drive (which has a capacity of 1TB and is formatted as FAT) to another external hard drive (500GB, FAT), and compress it in some way (preferably bzip2 to save space). I have a nfs share (PEGASUS RAID) mounted from OSX lion machine to 4 other machines: 2 OSX lion boxes and 2 linux boxes.<br />
In terminal I can ls files and see everything as I&#039;d expect.<br />
However, in Finder, some of the subdirectories don&#039;t show any content, although they are there and permissions are correct.<br />
Has anyone encountered anything similar?<br />
Any ideas for troubleshooting this?<br />
<br />
AFP seems to work fine, but the problem is I need the share mounted system-wide, not just in userspace. <br />

Today I found, downloaded, and installed WineBottler Combo (Wine included) and successfully ran NotePad++ as an independent &quot;wrapped&quot; application.  &quot;Wrapped&quot; means Wine is wrapped around NotePad++ and placed in a container package that Mac OS X recognizes as an application.
