| serial terminals? i have a WYSE terminal that I use with my YDL distribiution, is there anyway to bring this terminal online in macos X? |

| my thought would be to get a USB-serial widget and assuming that the driver software is reasonable, you should be able to enable 'getty' on that line and have it work. |

| appologies necessary, i'm using a 1998 series g3 powerbook, probably the only macos X compatible machine with serial ports, i'm not sure how to use getty in macos x, so if you could be a little more specific that would help, thx ![]() |

| You'll want to edit the /etc/ttys file to turn the appropriate tty 'on' and then you need to tell the init process to reread the file via a 'kill -s HUP 1' |

| I would like to know how to do this to I have tried the above with no success. My computer is a dual G5 with a USB serial converter. The devise is on /dev/tty.usbserial And I have also used the kill command with no luck any help would be great. |
