    Starting MySQL on boot (10.1.5)?

There's not much info at Entropy.ch and the only post I found (http://www.macosx.com/forums/showthr...mysql+and+boot) only describes what doesn't work.

Do I just make a symlink (don't know how to do that) from safe_mysqld to /library/startupitems?

    Thanks!

    to make a symlink:

    ln -s /path/to/file/or/directory name_of_link

as for starting items at boot, i found this a while back:

    http://softwaredev.earthweb.com/sdte...985561,00.html

it is for tomcat, specifically, but i'm sure you can modify the tutorial for whatever service or daemon you plan to run. i have not tested it or even looked at it for that matter. please post results if you get it working.

    uh...entropy.ch has it

You probably missed it, (or it maybe you found it doesn't work on 10.1.5), but it's there. There is a startup item given on his page. It works fine for me on 10.2, and i think i got it to work on 10.1.5 also, although i'm not sure.

    Talking Dang I'm blind...

hsotncam, thanks a lot! I totally missed that! I installed it and it seems to have worked, but I don't plan on rebooting any time soon so I'll just assume it works

I guess it's because it's after the "For 10.2" bold text so I just ignored everything after it.

    Thanks again!
