Need Help with Mplayer

Hi people,

I need help with mplayer running from an X11 terminal. I am able to play the the first audio or video file I want to. But I can play only one. If I try to play a second file, mplayer gets stuck after a message:

[AO ARTS] can't connect to aRts soundserver

I must point out that this message is not displayed when I turn on the machine and play the very first file with mplayer. But on the second file, kaputz! In order to be able to play another file, I have to reboot the machine.

How can I fix this?
Please help.

Thanks a lot, but although this might be foolish, I would like to get the unix mplayer to work properly running from an X11 terminal, just as it would do in any linux machine, rather than installing the macosx version of mplayer as an apple application...
It should be possible to do this right?
