network booting

is it possible to network boot non-apple os from OS X server or client ?

I've downloaded YDL 5 & Ubuntu 7 PPC and want to try them without burning 10+ CD's and for the sake of learning OpenFirmware, network boot and install.

can someone point to a howto guide or explain the process?, i've tried linux howto, but it only deals with linux booting linux

thanks.
