| Make sure that ~/.ssh/known_hosts is rw by your user. When you moved the remote machine, did you change the /etc/ssh/ssh_host_*_key files? If you did then you need the new key, if not then there is a problem. |

| If you are only seeing tildes then you have tried to open a file that does not exist. I use that method to create a file instead of the touch command. |
