Question How to set up a CVS server on my own machine?

Hi,

I want to use my emac to do version control both for work done on that machine, and for a windows machine on my home-office LAN. I found this page on the web: http://developer.apple.com/internet/...soverview.html and followed it pretty well to the letter. But at the cvs init phase I got this:

Pattersons-eMac:~ mark$ cvs init
cvs [init aborted]: cannot make directory /usr/local/cvsrep/CVSROOT: No such file or directory

Can anyone suggest what might be going wrong?

TIA,
Mark

It's working, but what was wrong with the Apple page?

I seem to have got cvs going, reading from here
http://www.novajo.ca/cvs.html

but I don't know what was wrong with the apple developer page.
