Script to monitor apache

I'm fairly new to Unix and definitely newbie when it comes to scripting. Can someone point me to or walk me through writing a simple script that does the following:

apachectl graceful
apachectl graceful


No it's not a typo. I need to call it twice. I'm going to set up the script with a cron and call it periodically.

Any help at all would be most appreciated.
