Window manager

Hey

im new to x11 and linux and ive just downloaded x11. ive been told i need fink and a window manager befor i can download and run linux apps. is this true?

If so what is a good small window manager? ( i dont want to install another full os on my imac im conserving the memory lol)
so are there any simple window managers that will just let me run linux apps with x11 and dont take up to much memory?

thanks

If you're sticking with OS X, just use apple's X11 app - it includes a window manager that lives happily alongside the OS X window manager, so you can have mac apps and X apps at the same time.

Fink is certainly the easiest way to install unix programs, but not really necessary.

Linux is a whole nother OS, so you'd want another partition, yeah. If you just want to run individual X11 apps on OS X, you're fine.
