Apache <> System Sleep

It's always been the case that you had to have your system never sleep to serve a web site via Apache. But I swear I read somewhere that this was no longer true in 10.6... I've bought a new machine with 10.6.3, but putting it to sleep seems to kill my Apache web site just like previous OSX...

    10.6 Migration Assistant Clobbered Apache?

Giaguara, I don't think you understood my problem. The migration assistant overwrote the /apache2 directory on my 10.6 machine with the one from my 10.5. The question is how to I get the 10.6 /apache2 back in the virgin state so I can *begin* the manual config process.

    10.6 Migration Assistant Clobbered Apache?

I bought a new iMac with OSX 10.6 on it... I then used the Migration Assistant to copy the configs from my previous Mac which was 10.5.x. It worked great, but Web Sharing won't run... I think the Migration Assistant clobbered the /etc/apache2/ stuff... because it looks like the stuff from my...

    Disk Defrag

Drive 10 now seems to be TechTool... Which is too expensive and does way more than disk defrag. Isn't there something simpler/cheaper a'la the old Speed Disk?

Clock and date resetting to 1969??

Giaguara, sprale meant Mac OS "Classic"... I know this is pre-history for a lot of OS X users, but Mac OS did in-fact revert to 1904 when the battery died... Not to 1970 as our shiny "new" OS X 'nix does.

What is the email address for at AT&T iphone?

(phone number)@txt.att.net But depending on your data/text $plan, this might be the most expensive way to send a short message. Try email instead.

iPhone Remote won't change speakers after OSX 10.4>10.5 upgrade

I've been using my iPhone + Wifi + Remote app to control my computer's iTunes for a while. It always pops back to playing thru the computer speakers. iTunes is has a local + two remote speakers. Remote #1 is an TV (Living Room) and the other is an AirTunes (Bedroom). Since upgrading...

HOWTO: Turn your old CRT iMac into a monitor

I have an old iBook with a dead hard drive... It's currently a nice door stop, but would be cool if I could put it to better use. Could it also be a external monitor?

    HOW TO Set Finder Windows

PDF file is corrupt. Also, I just upgraded to 10.5, and I'm sort of confused how to make individual windows stick in list vs icon view. If I switch from list to icon view, and then navigate to it's parent folder (which was previously in list view), it to now shows in icon view. This is a...

[HOWTO] - Use niload to add hosts

Hey, this is all fine and dandy for 10.4, but NetInfo Manager is gone from 10.5. :( I asked a question about retrieving everything that was in my NetInfo Manager database here: http://macosx.com/forums/mac-os-x-system-mac-software/304086-10-5-netinfo-manager-hosts.html Could someone post an...

    Some things don't change!

Here here!!! Before Apple introduced the Dock "Fan" option in 10.5, the prototyped something called "piles". http://jaigouk.blogspot.com/2007/02/apple-pile.html In my opinion, this is a great extension of how I "organize" my physical desk. People rarely see my desk as organized, because they...
