    WWDC 2006 keynote

although I'm happy with the Mac Pro announcements, and dual-core, dual CPU Woodcrest action - which was expected - and the price is pretty decent; I just love all of the foolish expectations of the people that thought the iPhone, et al was going to really happen.

    Adobe CS3 due in mid-2007

I can only hope that they tap into CoreImage/CoreVideo in this iteration of CS. They do that and they'll have apps that could sway professionals in bigger numbers.

    1 GB ipod nano!

hmmm... I would get one to double as a "flash drive", but 1gb usb flash drives can be found for 35 bucks now. pass. I'll keep my 30gb iPod Photo (yep, still recharges and functions with my Firewire too)

    2006 MacWorld Expo BOLD Prediction

funny. 10 pages of speculation from "those in the know" and there's only one post, the one above mine, that was right. Rumor-mongering should be outlawed or ridiculed. If not both.

    iWeb part of iLife '06?

So it's not a big deal then. And if this is the big announcement for tomorrow, I'm going to forecast "sigh" and "augggh" like a Charlie Brown episode. But for Mac rumor mills instead.

Why would I ever purchase iWeb? I have Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. Yes, I'm asking in a very "Devil's Advocate" manner...

Is this what intel showed jobs?

Cool information, but until I see what prices an 8 core CPU has, I'm not expecting it in a consumer product for at least 4 years.

xBox 360 PPC vs PowerMac PPC

Watch it... he might point out there were some other earlier entries about correcting just that ;)

xBox 360 PPC vs PowerMac PPC

I don't think anybody called you a jackass. It's just that you're comparing a bowie knife - a single blade knife - to a swiss army knife - multiple blades and utensils... or respectively, a XBOX360 to a PowerMac. As far as it being a digital hub, you're right. It's part of one... it'll...

xBox 360 PPC vs PowerMac PPC

Hey... just like people hacked the original XBOX to be a media center... perhaps they'll do it to this one too. As far as the "Apple charges too much for PowerMacs" argument... (Edited: Read board rules about importing other forums' threads...) I just don't get it. I mean... the original...

You're quite welcome. You never changed your original post, so I thought you needed an echo, echo...

xBox 360 PPC vs PowerMac PPC

Please do some basic research yourself. Cell is from IBM, Toshiba and Sony. Not IBM and Microsoft... that's the Xenon processor. Hit up http://www.arstechnica.com and search. You'll find out the differences real quick.

WARNING: Sony music CDs may install rootkits on Mac

IIRC, it's Sun that's behind the Blu-Ray DRM. I think the connection that's being attempted to be made is that if Sony Music/BMG will do this to their music CD customers, then they'd do it with the Blu-Ray disks. Personally... I totally disagree with that assumption.

    What apps are ready

I know plenty of graphic designers still using Quark Xpress on OS9. I've been made the switch to InDesign - they deemed it foolish, now they're asking questions - but plenty shops are still on QuarkXpress, unfortunately.

Mac mini the first to go Intel?

Why can't they compete? I mean... Steve Jobs chose them.
