I had a problem similar too this when using AIM (AOL instant messenger) a few years ago. Is your IM program AIM? if so, try using something else like ichat or adium.

It really depends on how you have iTunes setup. Under your preferences go to the advanced tab. If you have "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" checked, then yes, you will have two copies of the files. You can delete the originals. If you don't have it checked, then...

You probably have "auto-complete" turned on in the preferences. I no longer own a mac, so I can't be more help. Go to the preferences and search around for 'auto-complete'. Your english is pretty good compared to many people. :)
