Stupid me. I installed the OSX update and now Entourage won't open up.
When I try to open up Entourage, the Entourage logo comes up briefly and then disappears and I get a message window that says the Entourage has unexpectedly quit. It lets me close it, report it to Apple (which accomplishes nothing) or try again. I have tried all three.
Since it worked perfectly before the update, I assume it's a 10.4.2 conflict. Any suggestions? Right now, I'm out of business.

Might try downloading and installing the 10.4.2 combo update:

Thanks Ben. Tried it. Didn't work. I'm stumped at this point. But I appreciate the effort.

Have you tried holding down the Option key while starting Entourage? This gives you some Database Rebuild options. Worth a shot.

Thanks for your suggestion Paul. Still no luck. I thought the problem might stem from the fact that I'm using an older version of Entourage but I'm having no problems opening Word or Excel from the same Microsoft Office version. Obviously, the OSX 10.4.2 update zapped something in Entourage. I just wish I knew what it was. If you come up with any other thoughts, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Susanne

Susanne,
Try reinstalling Entourage and then import your Main Identity. Your Main Identity should be located in Home/Microsoft User Data/Office Identities.

Thanks Paul.
I solved the problem. Something must have corrupted the operating system when I downloaded 10.4.2. I made a copy of the Main Identity. Installed my original 10.4 on an external hard-drive and copied everything over to that. When I opened Entourage, all my info, emails, etc. were on the copied Main Identity and I'm back in business. I think I'll hold off on updating the OS to 10.4.2 again!
