I installed the usb port to the laptop, tiger reads it, yet the S.M.A.R.T status does not accept it

I need some assistance

The SMART status cannot be read through any other bus, only through the internal IDE connection. Ignoring the SMART status, does the drive work?

yeah, disk utility final read the drive and smart status was enabled, it appears the hard drive was PC use, so I had to partion and format for Mac purpose
