When i installed Tiger I went from 17 gig to 11 gig. Is tiger that much bigger or can i remove something that will free up some of that space?

Hi Dan,
Did you do an archive and install or upgrade? If it was the former, you can trash the entire "Previous System" folder in your hard drive. If you don't desperately need the space, however, I'd keep it there since it's useful for fixing some Tiger problems.

Charlie,
I did the upgrade and not the archive and install. Any thoughts? Would there be temp files that tiger placed on my computer when upgrading? I noticed it installed all kinds of different languages would that be the problem?
Thanks so much,
Dan

Hi Dan,
The language files should only take a few hundred MB, so removing them won't drastically improve your situation. I suggest that you download this program:
http://www.id-design.com/software/whatsize/index.php
It shows you all the files and folders in your computer and how big they are. If you see something that doesn't need to be there anymore you can then delete it. If in doubt, tell me the full path to the files before you delete them.
Cheers,
Charlie
