Hi, I have a 933 MHz ibook G4. I am using a logitech scroll mouse (wireless)
When I am browsing , my Safari pointer turns into a circle rainbow and pauses my page for anywhere from 5-10 seconds. This can happen up to 20 times in 1 session. Very frustrating!
I tried clearing my history and cache...did not help. I really do not want to reset Safari due to many passwords, etc. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Christine,
Have you tried using a different - non wireless - mouse
to see if that makes a difference? (A USB mouse would be ideal to test it with.)

I tried completely disconnecting my external mouse. The pause continues to happen even when I am using the keyboard up/down keys and the mouse pad. I checked for software updates as well... no luck.

Christine,
Does the use of the mouse and/or keyboard exhibit the same behavior in other applications? Does the mouse exhibit the same behavior in other web browsers?
If not, have you tried deleting Safari and reinstalling it?

The problem does not happen in other apps. I guess I will try to reset Safari. If that does not work, I will delete and reinstall. I do not want to lose all my setting

Thanks,

Christine,
You don't have to lose all your settings. You can, for example, export your bookmarks.
As far as preferences go: unless you explicitly delete them from the ~/library/preferences directory they'll remain there and if your delete and reinstall Safari then you won't lose much, if anything.

Okay, I know this might sound dumb... how do I export my bookmarks or what folder can I find them in?
I loaded SafariSpeed and that seemed to help with shorter delay times, but it did not fix the problem completely.
Thanks!

Christine,
No question is dumb.
To export bookmarks, choose File > Export Bookmarks
I would do this, exporting them to your desktop for example,
remove Safari and reinstall it.
Try these steps and see what happens.
Let me know.

Yeah, I thought of that. I do not have the "export bookmarks" option under file. ????

I have no idea why it is that I do not have the "export bookmarks" under file. I did solve my problems by RESETTING Safari. Thanks.
