Description:
There is a desk accessory in the Mac OS called "Connect To" which, when launched allows one to type in a URL which it takes you to.
However, it first provides a default URL which is
http://www.apple.com. It is highlighted and can be typed over.
Is it possible to change the default URL, say, to a preferred home page?

Bill,
Macworld printed instructions for changing the default URL in their December 1997 issue. The article is available here:
http://macworld.zdnet.com/pages/dece...lumn.4063.html
I'll spare you the details here, but it invovles changing the type code of the Connect To script and then editing it in Apple's Script Editor.
Thanks for using NoWonder,
Patrick Murphy
