When I try to access "more" bookmarks (favorites), I get a window with all of the bookmarks folders and titles. But, when I try to access any of those folders, I get a message that says, "Windows cannot find Netscape.exe". HELP!!!! I've tried to find the Netscape.exe file using the "find" option on the computer, but always come up empty. Any suggestions? Thanks!! (I use Microsoft Internet Explorer)
Hi Helynn!
What is happening is that your system is still associating "Internet Shortcuts" with Netscape (which was evidently at some point installed on your computer)
There are a couple of ways to fix this, probably the easiest being: Open Windows Explorer and go to Your Favorites folder (usually C:\Windows\Favorites) and select one of the Internet shortcuts in the folder (doesn't matter which) and then right click on the file while holding down the Shift key. This will give you "Open with..." as an option in the pop-up menu, choose it and then select IExplore as the program you want to use to open this type of file. Be sure to select the "Always use this program..." to set the default.
This *should* take care of your favorites problem. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions!
