Hi, my name is lushbudget and I'll be helping you out. I truly enjoy helping people use the greatest computers in the industry. I can only help you out if you give me the infomation I need, so let's start out by finding out what exactly your problem is and what I can do to help you.

Are you reffering to the frequency with which Apple Mail checks for new mail? If so, yes you can. Simply launch Mail, go to the Preferences Menu, click on General, then adjust the "Check For New Mail" setting to something more convienent for you.

If you are using a different mail program, which one?

If I've answered your question, great! Let me know here. If not then let me know and we'll go from there.

sorry - I should have been clearer. I meant the email notifications from Macosx.com. As for "taking over the planet"....all they have to do is have OS X run on PC hardware. That would pretty much do it. Perhaps that day has already arrived....(osx86). Now one wonders if it was orchestrated or lost?

Okey dokey. Well as far as I can tell you have the option to either receive email notifications right away (as needed) or about 8 mailings per year, or not at all. You do this by logging in, then clicking on Your Profile & Settings. The Subscribe/Unsubscribe Mailing Lists box gives you these options. Other than that, I don't see any other options on the site itself. You could set up your mail app to filter any items from MacOSX.com into a seperate folder thereby removing them from your In Box. Apple's Mail has Smart Folders (in Tiger) that can make finding your subscription emails easy, and a Rules preference pane that can automate the sorting and moving process. Hope this helps.

PS: I'd hate to see OS X running on anything other than Apple hardware. I'm a bit of an Apple elitist snob, and I like being 'different' than the rest of the computing public. Still, it is nice to see more and more folks getting excited about Apple too. Take care!
