I have a user who launches Freehand in OS9. While in OS X they have logged onto and see our local file servers both on the desktop and in the Finder. When switching to Freehand, the server is is not listed in the File/Open window when they set it to view the desktop. The servers had been there previously (before today) and are there under the same circumstances at the next desk/workstation.
Quick summary: The user can't open their document within the Classic app because the server isn't appearing in the File/Open dialog.

The user isn't doing anything differently and nothing has changed at the workstation. Rebooting doesn't resolve it.

Our network is Appletalk and OS X is 10.3.8.

Many thanks, L

P.S. you have a typo in your "Intro" message when a first time user posts a message. Check "foreign" in the last sentence. :-)

Try starting up in OS 9 ONLY
NOT CLASSIC

If you are still having the same problem then it is probably an
APPLETALK or TCP/IP error

go into the Preferences Folder and throw away the
APPLETALK and TCP/IP Preferences and restart again in OS 9
see if there is still a problem if not

then restart in OS X and start CLASSIC see if the same problem happens
If it is still happening then you will probably want to contact ADOBE and get TechSupport.

Hope it helps

Thank you for your super fast reply and suggestion! I passed it along to the user who has yet to try it. I've followed up again this morning and expect to know soon if your idea is "the fix." Funny, the problem was urgent at the time . . I'll confirm when I know more; and my apologies for not getting back to you with feedback.
