While using Mail, if I get an incomming message that includes a lengthy repeat of some formaer message, I'd like to be able to highlight the undesirable stuff then prnt a copy of the meat.

However I find that the "Cut" option is not available, and that "Delete" deletes the whole message, not just the highlighted section.

What to do?

Thanks....Billyboy

Hi Billyboy,

The general idea is that you're NOT ALLOWED to edit an e-mail that you've received. How would you like it if you had sent an important e-mail to someone, only to find that that person had edited it, making it look as though you had said something that you hadn't?

But if you want to print out just the relevant part of the e-mail, skipping all the previous correspondence, just click on the "Reply" button in mail. That gives you an editable version of the e-mail, for which you can delete anything you want before printing the document.

Once you have printed the bits you want, you can then close that e-mail down without sending it.

Hope that helps,

Thanks very much. That makes sense out of a confusing quirk.
