I can no longer do a soft restart (Command-Control-Power Key) to restart after a freeze. I used to be able to do this. Now I can only restart by using the button on the front of the minitower.

I think either your keyboard is going bad, the Keyboard preferences are damaged, or you need to zap the PRAM. The prefs are just a matter of deleting them and restarting. zapping the PRAM is done by holding down the cmd-crtl-P-R keys while the Mac restarts (wait until the machine dongs 3 times, then reset any control panels effected by the zap). If it's the keyboard, I'd wait until something else goes wrong with it, then buy a new one (i really don't know enough to test one). If it's an extension that's blocking the key combo, set Extensions Manager to Mac OS Base and see if the combo works afterward.
