TICKET ARCHIVE -> Cannon Flatbed Scanner.. Driver Rights Issue?

essentially i can only access my scanner through the admin account on my mac (the one i installed it from) I beleive this may be simillar to a printer problem i once had on a Gentoo linux machine where the install did not grant all users permissions to access the driver however the error message i am getting is "Cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected. Check status. Scanner driver will be closed." works fine from my admin account login.


please help this moron

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for using MacOSX.com.

Do this for me first, and if you still have issues, I will see about getting you more help.

Go to Applications -> Utilties -> Disk Utility and reun the repair permissions button on your HD. You might need to run it twice just to double check.
