Anybody else has sorted what to do with this problem ?
The Gimp drivers on the Tiger Canon menu do not include the i450 or the i455

Canon-provided drivers for those two are included in Tiger.

Maybe you need to click More Printers (in Printer Setup) to get your models to show up?

I did this many times. It just does not find the i450 or the i455.

OK, I'm assuming you don't remember choosing Not to install the drivers - right? To be sure, put your Tiger DVD in the computer and run the installer named Optional Installs - it's not immediately visible, you have to scroll down to find it.
After that, repair permissions (again). Then Reset Printing System, a menu item in Printer Setup Utility, just above Quit Printer Setup. Then restart the Mac. Now got back to ADD the printer - don't forget to click More Printers.
Good luck.
