Ok

i think I may have found your solution

Leave your firewall off for now, well test that later

For now, I have made an RTF file with instructions on what to do to correct this error, if yo do no mind I would like to send you an email with the file attached. (I know we are solving an "email" problem, but do you have a way to check your email from another computer? or have a free online account like Hotmail?)

Let me know, if so then read below...

my email address is jeremiebell@macosx.com, please send me a confirmation email and my reply will contain the file

Thank you

What is a rtf file? can you not just paste the information into a message?

You can email the file to seashells81@hotmail.com.

Thank you for your help.

An RTF file is rich text format (it allows for text and images)

The reason I cannot paste it is because it has images to guide you through solving your problem

I am sorry if this was an inconvenience for you, please post any questions you have on the troubleshoter i gave you.

Its time to perform either an Archive and install (specialized OS X reinstall that saves all your stuff) or a full Office Reinstall,

I reccomend Archive and install because if there are ANY other problems it will prolly fix those too.

I have been trained to do either operation, the choice is yours

I hope this works for you ^__^

i have tried to set the mail up in the program called mail and i get the same error. So I do not think it is entourage itself anymore. Could it be something with my computer settings or internet connection? i have a cable modem.

Its the computer

tell ya what

before I have you reinstall the Operating System, go to your home folder and in Library youll see a folder called Caches, just move that folder to the trash, reboot the computer and tell me if it chnages anything

If not well move on to the reinstall

hi, ive deleted all caches etc. still not working. so you thin reinstalling the operating system is the only solution? I am gonna switch to classic and se eif it works in there.
thanks

Well actually it prolly isnt the only solution

BUT Michelle to be completely honest with you, its probably easiest. I know that sounds kinda wierd but it really is
