Knowledge Level: Intermediate

Problem: Hardware
Computer Type: Power Computing
Model: PowerCenter 150
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
I've been having problems with my CD-ROM since I installed OS 8. I read in your October issue (Tip #22) that I needed to reinstall CD-ROM Toolkit. My computer freezes, when trying to read the Powere Computing CD, and can only be shut-down by the button on the front of the computer. Could I copy the Toolkit to a zip (on another computer) and install it from that? I took it in for repair and was told that I must need a new CD-ROM drive.
Any help would be appreciated!
Beth

Hi welcome to Nowonder

You can download the most recent FWB Toolbox and FWB CD rom driver at http://www.download.com

Before you go to install it go in and remove all old CD rom software and toolbox and just place in trash (dont empty until you have new up and running).

Also make sure the Apple CD Rom is not checked in the extension manager.
