Paydirt! I know what's happening here.

From http://www.teac.com/dsp/cd/scsi_cd.html
---------------
CD50 (2X), CD56S (6X),CD516S (16X) & CD532S (32X)
Since all of these drives have a standard SCSI interface, TEAC does not provide any drivers during shipment. Therefore, if you're using an operating system such as MS-DOS, Windows 95, Windows NT, and OS/2, you will be using the software drivers provided with your SCSI controller card. Please reference your SCSI card's documentation very thoroughly for this information. Should you need such drivers, please contact your controller card manufacturer (i.e. Adaptec, Buslogic, etc.). For Macintosh systems, software drivers from companies such as FWB Inc. (CD-ROM Tool Kit) can
be used. You can contact FWB at (650) 482-4800) and on the Internet at www.fwb.com.
-----------

So whoever sold you that drive didn't intend to make it particularly easy on you. Here's the link for you to buy FWB's product: http://www.fwb.com/cs/cs_toc.html

-- or -- if you prefer

I'll show you how to pirat<<<< ahem, obtain a trial version for your evaluation.
