Description:
I once printed out all the bright colors. My Apple 1705 Mulltiscan monitor was repaired by tech who tampered with internal settings. Since then, red prints out as brown, yellow prints out as green.
Otherwise, printer has new cartridges, printe clearly and all is perfect with my new system 8.1 and the newest HP drivers. How to get my monitor back to normal colors? How do I calibrate so it will print out regular yellow? Regular Red etc?
End of my rope

You didn't mention which printer you have other than it is an HP. There are two main ways of displaying color. The first is RGB, which is adding light of the three colors red, green, and blue. The second is CMYK which uses the colors cyan, magenta, and yellow (and black to give you a true black) and these are what you print with as they absorb the colors and only allow the other colors to bounce off your white paper. RGB gives you many more colors than CMYK, so many colors you see on your screen you cannot print, especially bright colors.
The way your monitor looks has no affect on the way you print unless you change colors by eye on the screen. If you have an old document that you know how it printed, and it prints differently now, it is in the page setup, or other printing settings. Also if you have recently upgraded to photoshop 5 it can change your colors and may be limiting the colors in your document as its defaults are set to convert images to sRGB a new range of colors that is smaller than what you may have used before.
