DESCRIPTION:

my computer freezes frquently while I'm on the internet. It always happens during a mouseclick while scrolling down a page. Sometimes I see repeating lines at the end of the frozen page giving the appearance of coming to a screeching halt. I've checked my modem speed, cleared the temporary internet folder thing. Could it be phone static? It seems to happen less when my teenage daughter is away. Poltergeists maybe?

What kind of browser do you have? Is it Internet Explorer 4.0? Do you have the active desktop part?
What kind of mouse? MS inteliimouse with 3 buttons or a wheel?
What kind of video card?
Any combination of the above have been known to cause freezes like you described. best way to resolve it is to update the drivers for the mouse and/or video card and remove the active desktop component in the time being (if installed).
Any questions? davidhou@nowonder.com
