Computer Type: apple
Model: LCIII and 6500
RAM: Not related
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: Not related

Description:
The LCIII has system 7.5.5.
The 6500 has system 8.1.
Apple says they must have the same system. The LCIII will not accept system 8.1. The 6500 cannot accept 7.5.5. Is there some way you know of to connect them?

Hi Alan, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
To share files between two Mac's, (OS 7 or 8),
attach a serial cable between the printer ports of the two
machines, switch on AppleTalk and file sharing on both
machines, and operate the two as if they were
networked-which, coincidentally, they now are!
