Knowledge Level: Intermediate
Problem: Software
Computer Type: Apple
Model: Performa 6400/200
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.5.1

Description:
With OS 8.5.1, I have lost control of the position of the Control Strip.

It used to stay where I put it, boot up after boot up.

Now it is always in the lower left corner and it is fully expanded.

Not a great problem in the grand scheme of things but I am annoyed at having to close it and hold down the option key and move it up out of the way of a tabbed window (and sometimes other things) Not a Mac-like behavior.

It used to stay put. I have explored every kind of control that I can think of and nothing effects it.

Any ideas?

Welcome to No Wonder, Dennis.

Try trashing the Control Strip Preferences file located in the Preferences folder of your System Folder. Then restart your machine and set the control strip in the location you want and make sure it is closed. Restart and check to see if this worked.

Good luck, and thanks for using No Wonder!

Greg
