Knowledge Level: Expert but stumped

Problem: Combination
Computer Type: Power Computing
Model: PowerWave 604/120
RAM: 32meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8

Description:
When my StyleWriter II is plugged into the CPU's Printer (or Modem) port, the CPU will not power up from the keyboard or the CPU's power key. Modem works fine. My next step is to borrow a new printer cable somewhere and see if that's the problem. Doesn't seem likely, though. Bad printer driver? Your opinion most welcome.

Hi Margo, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
This could be a printer logic board problem.
Have you tried starting with the extensions turned off and the printer plugged in to the printer port?
If this doesn't work and a new cable doesn't work either, you'll need to have the printer repaired.
