Description:
I am signing up to the British Telecolm digital highway service but this needs an ISDN card.Is this an integral part of the iMac I take delivery of next week. If not any suggestions.

I wasn't quite sure where to turn for this, but

makes it pretty clear that you will need some sort of "...ISDN Terminal Adapters or ISDN Routers, ethernet hubs or cards (10-T Base, etc for Macintosh)."

ISDN is a nice, and expensive feature, but the iMac was meant for the introductory consumer market, so no facilities for ISDN were built-in. That "etc." is not particularly helpful...

I suggest you talk to BT, to get their recommendations on the appropriate hardware. Once armed with the proper terminology, you can see about getting a good deal, or decide that 56k might be fast enough, and cheaper for your purposes.
