How can I use a Kodak i40 document scanner (this is an adf based model, 25 page per minute, color duplex scanner) under MacOsX. I have the manufacturer supplied drivers, ISIS and TWAIN for Windows. Is it possible to somewhat "adapt" or "migrate" the TWAIN driver for use under MacOsX? Is there another suggested way to use this scanner under MacOsX? any advise will be more than welcomed as I have a lot of investigation on the Internet, but with null results up t now. Seems like there's no way to use a document scanner in Mac. Please help.

The included Mac OS X application for scanners is Image Capture. If you have Tiger, you can automate the process of scanning documents and filing them using Automator.

well, perhaps my question was not clear enough, sorry for that. What I'm looking for, is not an application for image capture, but rather, a TWAIN data source that works on MacOsX for the referred Kodak i40 Scanner? do you know of something available somewhere, or a company that can custom develop it?
Thanks, Javier

I suppose I was always under the impression that TWAIN was a universal format, compatible with both Mac and Windows. Is that not the case?

Ben, well. it is more or less so, since a very few years ago, when the TWAIN working gruoup released TWAIN for Mac and for UNIX. Now, this means only that TWAIN is supported under the OSs, i.e. that there is a TWAIN Source Manager for that particular OS. To use an imaging device (scanner, camera, etc.) a TWAIN Data Source (i.e. TWAIN driver) is still needed for that specific device, for that specific OS; in my case I´m looking for a TWAIN driver that works under MacOsX, for a Kodak i40 scanner. Do you o r any of your colleages or volunteers know if such exists or anybody that can develop one?

Do I understand that Kodak developed the TWAIN drivers for Windows? Have you asked Kodak about such a product?
