Knowledge Level: Expert but stumped
Problem: Hardware
Computer Type: PowerComputing
Model: PowerCenterPro240
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
I have two SCSI buses on my PowerCenterPro 240. The main bus (ID=0)
On my fast SCSI bus (Adaptec card, bus ID=1) I’ve put an additional hard drive (4.5 G Atlas). I’ve update both drives with FWB Harddrive Tool kit 2.5.2

Here is the weird part: I’ve put my system software on the new drive and selected that drive as my startup disk. If I simply *restart*, everything works as it should—I boot up off the new drive and everything is happy. However, if I *shutdown*, the next time I turn on the computer, only my old drive will mount. I have to manually mount the new drive (using FWB Mounter), then *restart* to use the new drive as the startup drive.

MacFixIt properly identifies a conflict between PC Exchange and FWB Toolkit 2.5.2—I experience a crash at shutdown if PC Exchange is installed. This conflict seems independent from the odd problems that I’m having.

What should I do to use the new drive as the startup disk (besides leaving my computer on all the time!)
