DESCRIPTION:

Hi Guys,

I had win '98 on my PC, but i found out that my US Robtics Winmodem did not work with it. I used the uninstall win '98 feature & now I get this error message when i start thr PC.

REGISTRY OR SYSTEM.INI NOT FOUND
TURBOVBF.VXD
TURBOVCD.VXD


I press enter twice then everthing runs normal.

Please help

Jim,
This occurs because a your system files are trying to load files that don't exist. This can occur when a program is deleted but not Uninstalled correctly, or something can go weird in your system files. To remedy this, there are a few solutions:
a) Goto Start -> run and type "sysedit" go to the "system.ini" window and search for "TURBOVBF.VXD" and "TURBOVCD.VXD" (without quotes) and if it finds them, delete the line(s) that they are on. If this doesn't work:
b) Try installing programs you have had on your computer, and uninstall them correctly if you don't want/need the program anymore. Hopefully this should fix those pesky error messages, but if they don't, you may have to edit the Windows Registry, which will be very hard for you since you said you were a beginner. If these don't work, contact me, and I'll help you try and fix the registry.
