sometimes we cannot get the lines to print on a simple spreadsheet. Within the same workbook we get 1 page that prints lines and the other that does not. WE run a small network of power book, emac and imac on OSX - latest update and print to an HP Laser jet 1200. We have had an IT technician to ook at the problem and he is baffled. We have created a new spreadsheet to try and get rid of a possible bug on one of the sheets but this does not work. The lines are not there when we see the doc in print preview mode but they are there on the screen. I would be grateful for your help.
Many thanks.

On my version of Excel (v.X), you set this in the Page Setup > Sheet Tab, where the checkbox is labelled Print - Gridlines.

Does that work for you?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, we always check this box for "Gridlines" and we still don't get any lines.
Any other suggestions? Is there something we can do like "clear all cells" and then re-set them? A bit like clearing all formulas and then re-setting. Does that sound silly? It is such an annoying problem as it is so hard to read the budget sheets we have and I end up drawing in lines with a ruler when I get desperat! !!

I'd try deleting the Excel preferences. Search for the file com.microsoft.Excel.plist and drag it to the desktop. Then start up Excel and see if it prints the gridlines for you. If nothing bad seems to happen (in Excel), delete the file from the desktop.
Good luck.
