Hi, Ive got a Imac G4 Running OS X 10.2.8, I recently Bought a PikaOne Slim Flycase (20Gb) External Hard Drive, I used it To transfer some music and photos from my (windows XP) Laptop, it worked fine. Then a few weeks later i tried to use on my imac and it would not work, it just would not show up anywhere? I then tried it on my laptop and it worked, I Tried formatting it for a mac but it still did not work. Any help would be great as i am running out of space on my hard drive.
Thanks John

Did you try to use disk utility to format external hard drive. you can't use external hard drive if it is formatted with NTFS on Mac. And windows computers don't read (Mac OS Extended) so you will have to compromise to use the drive with one system or format the drive with FAT32 FS.
If you need data from windows copy that through network.

with regards,
Imtiaz

What is the connection type of your ext. drive. Mean do you connect it via USB or Firewire? Check also the status of the connection port in the System Profiler utility while your drive is connected. Did you receive any software CD with your ext. HD containing utilities etc?

Dear John,
Please try like this. Connect your drive with windows computer and remove its partitions. Then connect it with iMac as unpartitioned drive and check if it appears in the left side pane of Disk Utility. Are you using any external USB Hub?
