Problem: Software
Computer Type: Apple
Model: G3/233
RAM: 65+
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: MacOS 8.1

Description:
Ever since I upgraded to 8.1 from 8.0, my finder crashes after waking up from sleep. I even changed the settings to only sleep the monitor, but it still happened. Is anyone else having this problem? Must I give up the option for sleep? The other day, my system folder was corrupted so bad I had to boot with the Norton Utilities CD to correct the problem. It almost always results with a "rescued from system" folder in the trash after sleep.

Ron,
My name is Cheryl abnd I will be helping you. A big memory taker is Apple's Energy Saver. many hard drives will spin down on their own after a period of inactivity, and monitors that are labled Energy Star will go into sleep mode to conserve energy. On some models it does cause problems. Remove both the Extension and the Control Panel, or just disable them by dragging them to the (disabled) folder. Then keep a watch on your computer. If you have no more problems, then you are better off without them.
Keep me posted on how you do
Cheryl
