Mary,
Hi, my name is Ed. I'm a No Wonder volunteer and will try to answer your question. My email address is
Before the end of the year, there should be both a Zip drive and several types of floppy drive available for the iMac.
The so-called USB SuperDisk (from Imation) will read/write not only regular 1.44 MB floppy disks, but also 120 MB removable cartridges. It will probably sell for around $150 street price.
The iFloppy (from Newer Technologies) will read/write regular 1.44 MB floppies only and sell for maybe $60.
The USB Zip drive (from Iomega) will sell for less than $150.
